Karimnagar: Withdrawal of nominations by candidates concluded on Thursday, with about 373 candidates left in the fray for Karimangar Municipal Corporation elections.
A total of 1,025 nominations were filed for 60 division of KMC and only one nomination was rejected in the scrutiny. While some of the candidates had filed more papers, some of the aspirants withdrew theirs.
Finally, about 373 candidates from various political parties and independents were in competition for 58 divisions since two divisions were declared unanimous election following the withdrawal of their opponents.
Two TRS aspirants Challa Swarooparani of 37th division and Tula Rajeshwari of 20th division were elected unanimously.
One Shahid, who had expected TRS ticket from 4th division, staged a protest in front of KMC office for not allocating party ticket to him. Shaik Mujeeb Ahmed was allocated ticket. Police took him into custody for creating nuisance.
Elsewhere, the University of Hyderabad Students Union also gave a statement condemning the violence in Delhi.
