TPCC vice-president and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has strongly condemned the expulsion of two Congress legislators and suspension of 11 others for the rest of the budget session. labelling it as an “undemocratic and autocratic decision” of the TRS government.
He said the TRS government had made the hurling of headphones at the Speaker into a big issue leading to disciplinary action against the legislators, to escape being grilled over its alleged anti-people policies. He alleged that the government had targeted S.A. Sampath Kumar since he had approached the court against legislators defecting to TRS.
In a press note here today, he reminded that even in Lok Sabha, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh MPs were in the podium demanding the implementation of AP State Reorganisation Act since last five days, but the Speaker had not suspended anyone, but merely postponed the meeting.
