A pipeline is being laid from Ramappa tank to Mulug Ghanpur tank to enhance the cultivable area in Mulug Ghanpur mandal following instructions from Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The Minister, accompanied by Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary, toured the district inspecting the ongoing irrigation works.
A total of 1.90 lakh acres of land could be irrigated in Bhupalapally district and the State government has initiated steps towards that end. A total of 24,000 acres could be brought under irrigation under the Mulug Ghanpur tank.
The State government’s irrigation projects envisage providing water to the entire State. The Minister and the Speaker visited Ramappa lake, Bhim Ghanpur lake and inspected the ongoing canal link works between Ramappa – Laknavaram – Ghanpur. They also inspected the Thupakulagudem and Devadula project works.
The Minister further asserted that the works would be completed within 45 days. By linking Ramappa to Pakhala lake, 15000 acres would additionally come under the ayacut of the Devadula project. The third link between Ramappa and Laknavaram is being laid. As a result of this a total of 8,500 acres would be irrigated, he said.
The Park, to be built on par with Putrajaya KL Bird Park,will have around 2,000 birds of 150 species.
