The HRC has directed the issue to the LB Nagar DCP and Secretary Board of Intermediate for fair enquiry and justice to the parents.

Hyderabad: A petition was filed to the State Human Rights Commission seeking justice on the death of 16-year-old intermediate student of Sri Chaitanya Junior College of Hayathnagar at a supermarket in Vanasthalipuram.

The student, who went to DMart last Sunday at about 9 pm, was allegedly caught by the security staff for having stolen chocolates from the store. A resulting manhandling caused his spontaneous death.

The petition holds the supermarket and the junior college equally responsible for the death of the student. The college management is being held responsible for failing to take care of the student and provide him protection.

The tribal parents, Balaji Nayak and Nagamma, who hail from the Suryapet district, are lamenting the death of their son.

The HRC has directed the issue to the LB Nagar DCP and Secretary Board of Intermediate for fair enquiry and justice to the parents.

Achyut Rao, the president of Balala Hakkula Sangham, said, “There is a need for a thorough investigation. This has intentionally happened to an ST student.

And even after the death The college and the DMart making false allegations on the child which tells a clear violation of child rights and basic right to live.”
