Nalgonda: A leopard was caught in a wire snare loop at Rajapet thanda of Marriguda mandal in Nalgonda district.
The locals found on Thursday morning that a leopard was struck in a wire snare loop ,which was present near a fencing laid to an open land by its owner . Alerted by the locals, the officials of the forest department rushed to the place and taken up measures to rescue the leopard.
It was believed that the leopard might have come to the place from a nearby hillock at the tribal hamlet.
According to the locals, the wired trap was found there for the last one week. It was suspecting that unidentified persons might have laid the trap for the wild pigs.
On January 14, a leopard was also caught in the trap laid for wild pigs at Ajalapuram village of Marriguda mandal. The forest officials were rescued the leopard and shifted it to Nehru Zoological Park at Hyderabad.
