Hyderabad: Speeding cases more at tank bund

Hyderabad: The highest number of over-speeding cases were registered at Ambedkar Statue near Tank Bund, followed by Bowenpally Checkpost, KBR Park Road and PVNR Expressway.

Traffic DCP A.V. Ranganath said 15,826 e-challans were generated for speeding at the Ambedkar Statue near Tank Bund in 2016, while 5,063 cases have been registered so far in 2017. “We are educating motorists and sending speedsters to the Traffic Training Institute. Parents of accident victims are invited to explain the consequences of over-speeding,” he said.

The road from NTR Bhavan to Jubilee Hills check post known for racing during night registered only 7,750 speeding cases in 2016, followed by 6,390 in 2017. Surprisingly, the Bowenpally check post stood second in speeding cases.

 In 2016, about 10,446 challans were generated and in 2017, till date, 6,469 challans were issued here.
