Declare intermediate results by May 27, Telangana high court tells BIE | Published: 16th May 2019 | Posted Date: Thursday 16th May 2019 05:53 PM

The special counsel also explained that the uploading of the answer scripts of nine lakh odd students will be complete by May 27, and can be downloaded from that evening onwards.

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday directed the TS Board of Intermediate Education to declare the results of all Intermediate exams by May 27, after re-evaluation and re-verification and also to upload the answer scripts of all the 9,02,429 Inter students so that they can check their marks.

The vacation bench of Acting Chief Justice Raghavender Singh Chauhan and Justice Shameem Akhter directed the Board to do so, with the submissions and undertaking  of the Board that it has completed the process of  re- evaluation and re-verification of all the answer scripts of the failed students after discrepancies came to light in the Inter results announced earlier.

A. Sanjeev Kumar, special counsel appearing for the TS Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) informed the bench that the re-tallying and re-verification of the answer scripts of 3,20,000 odd students who are alleged to have failed was complete and he sought the court’s permission to announce the results on  May 16.

The special counsel also explained that the uploading of the answer scripts of nine lakh odd students will be complete by May 27, and can be downloaded from that evening onwards.

More than 2 crores of pages in the answer scripts of the nine lakh odd students will be uploaded on the official website of the TSBIE, Mr Kumar submitted.
Further, the counsel submitted that the re-verification and re-tallying of the marks of all the students who had allegedly failed was entrusted to Globarena Technologies. After the completion of this task, the same process was entrusted to a third party, M/s Data Technologies, for authentication of the work turned out by M/s Globarena Technologies.

This was the recommendation of the three-member committee constituted by the Telangana state government, the special counsel explained.
ACJ Chauhan declined the request of Damodar Reddy, counsel for the petitioner who sought a direction to the Board of Intermediate Education to declare the results of second-year Intermediate students at an earlier date.

The court said the petitioner should not be two faced: “If it is done in three days then you say it was a mere eyewash and if the Board seeks more time, you want it early,” he said.

The ACJ observed that the endeavour of the court is to ensure that each and every student who has appeared in the intermediate examination should be confident of the marks they have scored once they go through their answer scripts and compare them with the mark sheet, which will be uploaded on the BIE official website.

This will put an end to further doubts of the students.

The case was adjourned to June 6 for further hearing.
