MLA Gangula Kamalakar distributes books to students on Monday.
Karimnagar: The government will provide corporate-level facilities to students who pursue their education in Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Telangana Residential Schools assured Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar on Monday.
Mr Kamalakar along with MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao inaugurated the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Telangana Residential School in Karimnagar.
The state government earlier had started as many as 119 residential schools in 119 constituencies in the state.
This year, the government sanctioned 119 Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Telangana Residential schools in addition to the existing 119 schools that were sanctioned earlier.
This year, erstwhile Karimnagar was allotted 13 schools, one in each constituency. These schools were inaugurated on Monday.
Besides providing quality education in English along with free digital classes, these schools provide nutritious diet with two sets of school uniforms, sports dress, shoes and books free of cost.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kamalakar said, “With an aim to provide quality education to students from poor families and to implement KG to PG free education, the state government has opened a number of residential schools across the state. The TRS government has made it possible for poor students to avail corporate level education by investing Rs 1.2 lakh on every student.”
Since the results in the residential schools were good, these schools have witnessed heavy rush for admissions, said Mr Kamalakar.
Regional coordinator from the education department Thirupathi Reddy, school principal Venu Gopal, assistant principal Sravanti, Mandal Praja Parishad president Vasala Ramesh, sarpanch Purmallu Srinivas and Sunkeshala Sampath Rao were present.
Taking jab at Mr Rao, Mr Arvind asked why he was trying to rush the municipal polls if he isn’t intimidated by the BJP or Mr Modi.
