The collector said, “Open defecation leads to several health issues.

Warangal: With an aim to encourage officials and people to construct Individual Household Toilets (IHHL), the Jayashankar Bhupalpally district collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu took up the role of a mason and arranged bricks for the construction of IHHLs in Gori Kothapalli of Regonda mandal.

Mr Venkateshwarlu said, “Of the 459 sanctioned toilets in the village, 422 are completed.” He urged the officials to stay in the village and make sure that the construction of the remaining 37 toilets is completed and 100 per cent construction of IHHLs achieved.

The collector said, “Open defecation leads to several health issues. Each and every individual must take this up as a social responsibility and make the village free of open defecation.”

Tahsildar Srinivasa Chary, IGS APO Sunitha, Niti Ayog project officer Venkatesh among others were present.
