Revenue JAC to organise protests | Published: 8th November 2019 | Posted Date: Friday 8th November 2019 07:39 PM

Hyderabad: Following the murder of Abdullapurmet tahsildar Ch Vijaya Reddy, the revenue employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) is planning agitations against the defective laws and introducing better software to deal with the revenue land records.

The revenue JAC on Thursday said that the employees were facing insults and allegations from society.

During the hunger strike held in front of the Medchal-Malkajgiri collectorate, Revenue JAC leaders V. Lachi Reddy, S. Ramulu, J. Upendra Rao and S. Lakshminarayana have expressed concern over the uneasy situation faced by the employees for a long time.

Earlier, the employees alleged that the department and its employees never faced such a humiliating situation. The revenue department is providing necessary funds to the state government in the form of taxes. The revenue employees are the ones who know about the farmers’ problems and the lands they own.

A cordial relationship between the farmers and employees has now become worse due to the defective laws of the state government and the issues emerging due to the software. “The farmers are now treating the revenue employees as enemies. We demand exclusion of the department from dealing with the land administration issues,” said the JAC.

The JAC said that they would hold a roundtable conference at Hyderabad on Monday and discuss the future action plan to resolve their issues.

Investigators to rely on dying declaration of the accused

With the death of Kura Suresh, the alleged killer of Abdullapurmet tahsildar Ch. Vijaya Reddy, the investigators face a tough time to crack the reasons and the conspiracy behind the killing.

The only option left for the investigators is to rely on the dying declaration of the accused recorded at the Osmania General Hospital on November 4, the day of the attack.

The police officials are tight-lipped about the content of the dying declaration.

A senior official said the dying was recorded by a magistrate but they do not have any clue about its content and what he said about the incident or whether he had named anyone.

Since the murder of Vijaya Reddy, there are rumours that a land-related dispute is the reason that instigated Suresh. The police have so far found no evidence to support the rumours spreading that Suresh was provoked to kill the tahsildar.

The Rachakonda police has said that it would formally request the court to provide a copy of Suresh’s dying declaration to further proceed in the case.
