Khadeer Beig asked his wife to return home to celebrate Id and she refused, following which he plotted to attack her,” said police inspector of Kanchan-bagh N. Shankar.

Hyderabad: A husband’s sinister plot to attack his wife with acid with the help of two ‘supari killers’ went awry as the men attacked his mother-in law instead in Kanchanbagh.

According to police, Khadeer Beig was angry as his wife refused to come back from her mother’s place to celebrate Id.

According to police, Khadeer Beig, 27, and Saba Tabassum, 21, were married for a few years now and the couple has two children. “Khadeer Beig was an auto driver and an alcoholic. He would often pick up fights with his wife for no reason. Disturbed by her husband’s behaviour, she left for her mother's house. Tabassum also decided to get a divorce from Khadeer Beig which he rejected. He then asked his wife to return home to celebrate Id and she refused, following which he plotted to attack her,” said police inspector of Kanchan-bagh N. Shankar.

He struck a deal with two youngsters, identified as Waseem and Dastagir, to attack Tabassum with acid and paid them money.

On June 14, as per Khadeer's pan, they went to her mother's place and called out for Tabassum to open the door. Unexpectedly, Tabassum's mom Sadia Begum opened the door and became the victim of the acid attack.
